SLINGERLAND 1940'S RADIO KING SNARE: This is a fantastic snare! You are bidding on a 1940's -early 50's , Slingerland radio King 1 ply maple snare drum. It is the 7x14" size. Finished in original white marine pearl. The wrap is in fantastic shape. Nice and white still, and very even color all the way around. The shell has nice birdseye patterns on the inside. t is some separation of the shell and reinforcement ring, easily filled in if you choose.Has 16 Streamlined lugs, all in good shape. Has the 3 point strainer which is in working order but missing the extension lever. Has new, aftermarket Puresound snares with the metal tabs. Has engraved batter hoop. Bottom hoop may not be original. It is also missing 1 snare gate. T are several non-original screws on the throw-off and butt, they look and match up quite well tho. T are no non original holes. Has a newer Aquarian Modern Vintage batter head. The internal muffler is present and works, sort of.. It will engage, but does not dis-engage. T is a name written on the inside in pencil that I don't think is from the factory, but I have left it in t The drum sounds fantastic! Has the nice, warm vintage tone so many are after. Would make a great recording drum. Overall the drum presents well and looks quite nice. This would be a nice addition to any collection or would be a great player drum. Thanks!!
