as far as i can tell this is a 3 ply shell hollywood ace with the earlier three point "radio king"strainer and snare guards though the latter are missing from this drum. later models had the "rapid" two point strainer. it has what appears to be sept 10 1960 stamped on the inside (smudged so it's hard to tell exactly) along side a large P denoting (sparkling) pearl finish. the snare gates on the lower hoop are broken off but both hoops and all lugs are non-magnetic chrome on brass. has the badge and damper intact and is in very fine condition. wrap is tight and has slight scratches/marks but no fade or mottling. 9/10. the inner mahogany ply has a few small splits here and there along the grain but nothing bad at all. the 3 point throw is nickel rather than chrome and is probably earlier and not original to the drum. all in all a great vintage drum which just needs a snare wire to use as is or a few parts to restore it to its full glory. more pics here (cut and paste the link into the http: address bar above or in a new tab): /albums/ad234/poa77/SLINGERLAND%20SNARE/ please ask all questions before bidding and thanks for looking.
