ONE OF THE VERY BEST, AN American Wrought Iron CANDLE HOLDER or "LOOM LIGHT. American, mid 18th century, circa 1740-1760, PERFECT in all aspects. The BEST FORM AND A WONDERFUL AND EXTREMELY RARE small SIZE BEING ONLY 7" TALL!!!! The surface is untouched, uncleaned old quality and patina. Great tool marks throughout. This is one of the very best AND smallest I've ever seen, in person or in a book. This is a very important piece of American lighting. The condition is PERFECT and the surface is untouched. The form is the best and t are NO repairs or restorations. A small hanging light like this would have been used at a desk or a table to read or write. It would have been hung either on a nail or hook on the wall or from a table betty holder or stand.
