This was among my 87 year old aunts possessions. She also had my grandmothers things, so I don't kow just how old this little ironing board is. It looks like it was handmade and is in shabby and worn condition. It is still fully funtional as an ironing board, although a bit rickity. It would also be great for a few other uses. Makes a cute prop for primitive anitque type things. Also small enough to serve as a display shelf for smaller items when set up on a table top. The top of the ironing board is about 23" long and about 9 1/4" across. The little legs are designed to fold out. One end of the legs is held or stopped by an added crude piece of wood nailed or glued right onto the bottom of the board. The other end is hinged with leather strapping to another added strip of board. When the ironing board is set up, it is 13 1/2" tall. At first I thought the flat board was plywood, but looking at the end can see it one sheet of wood, about plywood thickness. T are no splits in the wood and the top surface paint is off color and mottled from use. T is also some newspaper stuck to it from being wrapped up for years.
