Description: Offering is the most unusual, single cross motif Seychour rug which was made late 19th century. A very unique, one of a kind and pleasing small seychour rug is attributable to the Kuba region of the Caucasus. Kuba is the principal town in an area between Shirvan to the south and Daghestan to the north. The Kuba area is part of north shirvan and an attribution to southern Shirvan for many of the earliest extant Caucasian is, at least, a reasonable hypothesis. Kuba is recognized as the most prolific state of knotted production, churning out piles of heavily patterned rugs, this rug testifies to this theory but nevertheless has a balance of arrangement in the design, framed by a very nice design pleasing to the eye. This gorgeous has unusual single cross motif. Variety of pattern cover all available spaces are characteristic. It is really hard to find single cross Seychour rug at this market. The palette is absolutely sensational with its array of all-vegetal colors: Madder red, variety of interesting blue, variations of magnificent green and red, soft yellow, natural dark brown and ivory. The condition is excellent for its age. It was made with wool on wool foundation and both ends and selvages are originally intact. T some small repilling areas which done by good work. Brown in some places is oxidized. This Seychour recently emerged from an exclusive private collection in Azerbaijan.
