Society of Medalists Issue No. 4, 1931. Bronze, 72mm. By Bruno Frederick MacMonnes. The artist designed the medal to commemorate the achievements of Charles Lindbergh. Obverse : Portrait of Lindbergh in flight gear; plane behind. Reverse : 'Lone Eagle' allegory; Lone Eagle battles Wind and Storm, King Death retreats defeated. One of 1,989 struck. Condition : Rub marks on high points, slight mottling, small nicks; VERY FINE.
