This sofa comes from an impeccably kept non smoking house. The covering has a soft silk-like appearance, I do not know if it is original or not. I don't know anything about the sofa except it was owned by my great grandmother. I don't know if it was passed on to her or not. The sofa was stored away in my parents house for 40 years plus. The reason I am selling it is because mother recently passed away so my wife and I have moved into the house to take care of my father who has alzheimer's. The house was passed on to my wife and I so we want to decorate it to our liking. (we are not into antique furniture). Since I dont know anything about antique furniture, I am counting on the antique collecters on ebay to dictate the price of this sofa/auction. (the high bidder will take this sofa home). Also, since I don't know anything about the sofa, the best I can do is point out all the faults I see, and post lots of photos so you can see it for yourself. As such, the sofa has a couple small tears shown in the last two photos. The last photo shows a small tear on the bottom of the sofa, (not on the material, VERY MINOR) I turned the sofa on it's side so you can see it. The photo just before the last shows two small hole like tears in the corner of the sofa under the cushion. The tears I metion are very minor and not even seen unless you take off the cusion and look really good. I did also notice some damage to the wood which is also shown in some of the photos so you can see for yourself (Easy fix). Also, the sofa was stored in my parents basement for a very long time so it will need a good professional cleaning. It truly is a magnificent sofa and will serve any good home well once repaired if not a museum. The sofa is sold as is and is for local pickup only unless other arrangements are made before the auction ends. The sofa is very heavy. Payment is due within 48 hours of the auction end unless other arrangements are made. Also, I encourage anyone interested to come to my house and see the sofa in person. Thanks, and Good Luck!
