Bad Dog Designs Vintage Solatron Voltmeter Nixie tube clock This is a truly original piece, take a 1960's bit of test equipment, reduce it in depth and fill the insides with a modern microprocessor but retain the original Nixie tubes to create a superb clock that will get noticed! - Please look at other listings if you are after a different style or design, alternately have a look here www. This is not something new made to look old, it is a genuine vintage bit of test kit that has had more than a few hours lavished on it.. It does have a few knocks and marks, it's 40+ years old! The Nixie tube is what used to be used before LED / LCD displays were invented, it has a unique warm glow that just simply isn't used anymore - think Valves and Hifi. It is mesmerizing the way the digits glow and fade from one number to the next. Every now and again it will randomly cycle all the digits to prevent tube burn and alternate between the time and date. It is a fully functional clock - desk / shelf and even wall mounting. Note I have not fitted wall brackets, please ask if you want these fitting. I suggest you The Nixie tubes inside have a lifespan running into the 10's of years - there are plenty of tubes made in the 1960's still running quite happily today.
