SOLID 16 Inch Lapis And 950 Silver Necklace, TAXCO This is a very solid 950 content sterling silver and lapis (I think this is lapis--it may be another type of stone) Taxco Mexico necklace. The necklace is 16 inches around the neck, and weighs close to 5 ounces. The lapis center piece is hinged, and both piece together are 7 inches long and 1 1/8 inches wide at the center, 1/2 inches wide at the ends. It is over 1/8 inches thick. The white streaked Lapis stone is highly polished, and is free of chips, cracks, scratches, or scuffs. The sterling has use and wear marks, but no major scratches, scuffs, nicks, or dents. T are some dark spots on the sterling which may be tarnish, but may also be the medium used to set the large tiled stones. The clasp functions well and holds. It closes with a click. The double oval links are also solid and heavy, and in good condition. The clasp is marked "950 TS-123 MEXICO". The silver in this piece has a higher silver content than sterling silver which is 925 parts silver out of 1000. 950 silver is used for higher end pieces of jewelry. This is a very nice piece, made in 1979 or later. It is very solid and somewhat heavy, beautifully styled. I combine shipping as described below. Please see my auctions for more great vintage jewelry. Please email with any questions. US shipping will be $4.75. Please see my other auctions for more vintage jewelry. I do combine shipping. Pay the highest shipping cost of any auction that you win and additional items ship for free, unless the weight changes significantly. It is recommended that shipping to Italy is registered which will add $10 to the cost. Shipping to Italy takes anyw from 10 days to 6 weeks to arrive. Canada may experience delays due to the customs process. This item is not available for shipping to Australia. .I believe the stone in this piece is Sodalite, not Lapis.
