This is a vintage brass soda acid fire extinguisher made by the General Detroit Corp. of Detroit/ LA. It has been polished and lacquered and displays very well and it is dent and ding free. It is the 2 1/2 gal. size and stands about 2 feet tall. The hose is in great shape and the ext. comes with a plastic acid bottle which is marked poison. I would estimate this is from the mid 1940's to the mid 50's. In 1942 copper was needed for the war effort and manufacturers began using brass. This continued until stainless steel became cheaper than brass. This model is the Quick-Aid Fire Guard with torpedo shell. That's how the brass letter plate reads. Buyer pays shipping/handling and insurance of $23.00 US. Payment is due 10 days from purchase. Please check out my ebay store for other fire extinguishers.
