Pair Solid Bronze Bookends signed JL Lambert, Dated 1914
Cast by Griffoul, Newark, NJ Two different images by sculptor JL Lambert cast in bronze as bookends by the Griffoul company share the common theme of children and water. A young girl with an oversize umbrella stands in the rain with a hound dog, while the young boy sits on a pier fishing (perhaps he's skipping school as his schoolbooks strapped together sit next to him). Solid bronze with dark brown patination. Each measures 5 5/8" high 2 5/8" deep and 3 ¾" wide. Original felt bottoms are present but worn. Metal and patina in EXCELLENT condition.
