This splendid french chandelier is made of solid bronze and is in the style of Louis XVI. The chandelier has five arms and is in perfect working order. Dating from the 1930s, it is in great condition. Each scrolled arm is decorated with a lovely leaf design. The five arms eminate from the central disk which is decorated underneath with a lovely leaf design and an ornate pineapple finail. At the end of each richly decorated arm sits a solid bronze drip tray with a fluted pattern on the stem and a delicate beaded border. The ornate ceiling rose is decorated with ribbing and has a central floral design. The solid bronze chain is made up of alternating plain and ornate solid bronze links. This lovely chandelier is full of detail, I do hope the photographs do it justice. This vintage light simply oozes opulence and will not fail to add grandeur to any home. Smaller sized five arm bronze chandeliers are a rarity in France, normally they have much larger dimensions. It would be possible to shorten the length of the light by removing some of the bronze links. The light has a lovely vintage appearance which is reflected in the beautiful bronze patina. Measurements are as follows: Overall drop from ceiling: 58cm Diameter: 40cm The chandelier requires 5 screw fit light bulbs (not supplied). I have tested the light and can confirm it is in working order, the wiring and light fittings have been recently replaced. However, I am unable to advise on electrical items and the purchaser should have the light checked by a qualified electrician prior to installation. I have not cleaned this light as I feel this would detract from its authenticity. When packaged, the light will weigh approximately 5kg due to the weight of the solid bronze.
