AMAZING***HEAVY-c1850 VICTORIAN 12K ROLLED ROSE GOLD SLIDER NECK CHAIN-40gm I am pleased to offer this Antique Victorian 12K Rolled Rose Gold neck chain that is a SLIDER with thick DOUBLE CHAINS ...and all the links and chains are SOLID NOT HOLLOW ..... It has a VERY RARE ETRUSCAN SLIDER .. as it depicts a carved scene of a Castle , a bird wheeling in the sky and a mountain above a lake.. i have NEVER seen a slider with this design..but have seen it on lockets before..a very hard to find item .. and is 15 1/4" in length.......complete with TWO fob clasps.....just gorgeous! The fobs alone sell for high book prices .. and this is antique ROSE GOLD that PINK GOLD color so highly sought after. The SLIDER measures 1/2" LONG and is an 1/8 deep ...and the THICK DOUBLE chains combine to be 1/4" in width ! Please take time to look at all the photos to see these beautiful piece.. As always the photos were taken outdoors to give a true indication of its condition but the photos are a bit dull due to overcast conditions...any dark shadows appearing on the piece are reflection only ..and it has not been polished for many years and is just so SHINY ! This is an Early Victorian piece but may also be Georgian .... HISTORY It is Circa 1850 by design and styling...and it came from a British estate. These antique rolled rose gold neck chains are becoming VERY RARE in this UNIQUE style of slider.. simply one of a kind... so dont miss this one! .. It has two fobs or dog clips to use as the locking clasps for this necklace .. and the SLIDER has finely carved floral motifes and Etruscan carvings as do the matching end links...and this really makes a statement ! DESCRIPTION and SIZING It is not hallmarked for gold content but the outer surface tests positive for 12 karat gold and it was sold to me as rolled gold. I believe the slider and end caps are either 12k rose gold shell or quite likely SOLID karat gold front and back .. which was often the case with these chains. Antique Rolled Gold is considered to be equivalent in quality to todays low karat gold. This one is of a lovely quality, and I have one of these and these look great for everyday wear with any outfit ... ....I wear mine constantly.....and being solid they will withstand a good deal of normal wear and tear unlike hollow link necklaces. It is a fabulous antique soft rose gold color, .that soft pink rose gold ..unlike the deep rose gold of today and will compliment both rose gold and yellow gold jewelry. The slider is a lozenge shape and has a carved Etruscan designs on the back and the castle scene complete with a dear little bird on the front.. with a mountain backdrop with a lake in front.. , .. ..t are two chains in a thick double curblink and they are SOLID NOT HOLLOW and they are held by Etruscan end pieces carved with Etruscan Carvings T has been an extender added at some time on either side of the necklace and one is curb link chain whilst the other is the same double link chain .. a beautiful finish to this piece. The end caps are both identical and are a beautiful carved shape It sparkles beautifully, and catches the light with every turn, .....and this WILL get noticed and admired ! This measures in 15 1/4" length and the double chains measure just over 1/4" in width and sit beautifully on the neckline.. a nice length ..so very flattering ... and you can add further extenders to increase length..but it looks gorgeous this length.. very ELEGANT It weighs approx 18 grams which further adds to its appeal. The only fault I can see is that it has a little age appropriate wear, but will polish up beautifully.. and many prefer this antique patina.. and one of the links in the center has a little gap..as the individual links are double links ..one has fallen away with time... but honestly its hardly visible unless looked at closely under magnification.. apart from that in FABULOUS antique condition.
