Early to Mid Edo era Solid Gold Aoi-mon Menuki Free Shipping, and No Reserve! These solid gold Aoi-mon menuki are approximately 2.65 cm long, 1.15 cm wide, and are of average thickness for the size (not paper thin like a few that I have seen). I added the dime to give some scale for the size. They are not pure gold, but judging by the color the carat level is fairly high. The pictures included are about the best I can get for my inexpensive camera and the small size of the menuki, but I will send more via e-mail to those of you that request them. I can not give the best information on this item as my knowledge level is pretty low and they are unsigned. They do not have any damage, but do have a small amount of wear due to being previously mounted, and one has a small drop of what appears to be clear lacquer on it. I have asked a few people far more knowledgeable than myself and they all agreed that these would easily pass the NBTHK Hozon shinsa. The age estimate came from the same source. If the winner would like, I will submit these to the next shinsa for an additional $175 which would cover the cost of the shinsa fee and the mail to and from. I will pay the fee if they do not pass the shinsa. They comes with a generic wooden box in good condition. I live in Japan, so the shipping will take about a week to ten days depending on your location, and will be by USPS Priority Mail to any location in the continental US or any US military base, and is free. If you can't wait that long I can send it USPS Express mail (about 3-5 days) for an extra $10. I will ship anyw in the world and will charge actual shipping cost to any other location rounding down to the nearest round dollar amount. The average shipping outside the US is about $25. I will not be responsible for any customs issues to countries outside the US. I prefer PayPal since I am on the other side of the world from the average person looking at this, as it is a lot quicker than snail mail payment. However, I will take payment in just about any form as long as you contact me first. I expect payment within a reasonable amount of time but will work with any issues as long as you contact me first. I will normally answer emails within 24 hours, so feel free to ask anything. In the event the winner would like to return these, something could be worked out, but they will need to be in the condition that they were sent. Asking questions should make returns a non-issue.
