You are bidding on a Cutler late 1880's - 1890's solid oak postmasters roll-top desk. Raised panels on all sides and drawer fronts. Includes working roll-top and two slide-out writing surfaces as well as 21 drawers, 10 slots, one cabinet and two envelope slots in the wings. When roll-top is closed, all external drawers automatically lock though I have no key to lock the roll-top. This is a LARGE desk at 6' long, 3' deep and 4 1/2' tall and is very heavy. The top section including main desk surface is removable for easier transport and set-up. As you can see in the pictures, the desk is in remarkable condition and includes appraisal papers and receipt. I welcome your questions and will answer them as best I can. No chair is included with the desk. Third party shipping and packaging will be paid for and arranged by the buyer. I will deliver (blanket wrapped) in a passenger van - at my earliest convenience - inside the continental US for $1.00 per mile one way plus reasonable meals and lodging expenses both ways. I will not be held responsible for any shipping or delivery damage. Item is sold as is, no returns or refunds.
Additionally, I have had several comments that the pictures were not detailed enough. The original photos were taken in my basement with a flash, the new photos (and t are more available on request) were taken in ambient light with the camera on a tripod.
Note: Due to lots of "behind the scenes" communication and offers, I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.
ATTENTION: I am new to ebay and have been unaware that offers and encouragement to end the auction early outside of ebay communicated via "contact seller" are not allowed. Please reference; /help/policies/rfe-spam-non-ebay-sale.html Copy and Paste this underlined string into your browser's "Go To" bar and read the policy.
That said, please disregard the above note saying " Due to lots of "behind the scenes" communication and offers, I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. " Though I have been offered as much as $5,000.00 behind the scenes to end the auction and sell outside ebay, I am letting this go full term and doing business honestly per ebay policy. PLEASE do NOT contact me about ending early...place your bid and I wish you the best.
