TAKE A LOOK AT THIS!! This is a lovely useable solid silver 18th century basting spoon made in 1794 by Peter and Ann Bateman. The spoon itself is 11.5 inches long and weighs 100 grams, or 3.2 troy ounces. Condition is very good, no splits or repairs as far as I can see. The only damage as far as I can tell is a small dink on the bowl, but difficult to spot. But for a cooking utensil that is well over 200 years old the condition is very acceptable, you will not be disappointed. Hallmarks are nice and clear and read: Lion passant Crowned leopards head for London assay Date letter T for 1794 King George duty mark Makers mark PB over AB I find it fascinating to wonder who may have used this spoon in the past! All questions welcome and no reserve
