Solid Silver Cigarette Box. Very rare hallmark , The Birmingham anchor and two letter C`s one each side of the anchor (see photo). This hallmark was only used for one year marking the Bicentennial of the Birmingham assay office , so a once in two hundred year hallmark. All hallmarks are clearly marked as is markers mark of Joseph Gloster , The Lion Silver Works , Hockley Hill , Birmingham . The box is in overall very good condition , the odd tiny mark here and there and only one dent worth talking about shown in last photo.It is a small dent one inch down on left side , the photo makes it look like it has a crease in the corner but that is just a reflection , just a small dent . It DOES NOT have any deep srcatches , major dents , bends , twists or repairs and the hinge is good and lid closes like it should. The box measures 5 inches long , 4 inches deep by 1.75 inches tall (approx) , and stands on nicely shaped feet , the bottom is covered in black leather also in good condition . The interior is lined with what I think is ceder wood also in very good condition , and is 430 grams in total weight .The box lid is domed and has an engine turned design with an added protuding lip at front edge for ease of opening . All in all a very nice solid silver cigarette box in very good condition with a very rare and unusual hallmark . Any questions please ask before you bid .
