Solid Silver, Gilt Finish French Medal of Honour. Named & Dated 1958 Medal of Honour for Work - Long Service "Medaille de Travail" Officially Issued by The Minister of Work & Social Security French Medal of Honour (Solid Silver) Named & Dated 1958 (awarded for 30 years service) Excellent Quality and Condition This medal is of super quality and condition. A desirable full size silver gilt medal which is gilded, measuring 1.1/16th inches in diameter and in superb condition. It is complete with original ribbon that is also in very good condition. The ribbon also displays a central rosette which indicates the previous 20 year service medal had been awarded to the recipient. The medal is officially named and dated on the reverse, "Mme M. Menier. 1958.". (Mme = Madame, indicating the recipient was female). The medal was awarded by the Minister of work & social security of the French Government, to workers who had served 30 years long and honourable service at the same place of work. The medal (on obverse) is signed by medalist Borrel at 5pm. Also, on the obverse at 7pm are two French mintmarks with the number 1 between them. This indicates and confirms the medal is of silver construction and gilded. It weighs approx 10.7 grammes, excluding ribbon . An attractive award of 1958 that would compliment any collection.
