This is a Permanent Steward's Jewel engraved to W Bro G Burtles No 4764 which I believe is the Sweyn Lodge. Fully hallmarked as follows - maker's mark ? RA, date letter O which I belive relates to 1929, Lion Passant showing silver purity of 925/1,000 anf Leopard's Head being town mark for London. The jewel was designed by CLJ Dolman and shows humanity succouring the sick. The motto 'Aegros Sanat Humanitas' means 'Kindness Heals the Sick'. The five pointed Masonic Star and the interlaced initials 'FH' (FreemasonsHospital) complete the design. Condition is good with just normal surface wear. Needs a clean!! Approx. dimensions - 6.4cms. by 3.3cms.. Weight 37.3grms.. I am happy to supply further images but will need an email address.
