SOLID STERLING SILVER ART DECO COMPOTE / TAZZA / BON-BON DISH - XMAS DELIVERY RARE MINT Ollivant & Botsford of Manchester Dated 1908! Posted well in time for Christmas includingInternationally. It is an early Art Deco, pierced with geometricpattern. Given the design and date this is a really early piece of collectable deco. It has a full set of STERLING SILVER hall marks for Birmingham 1908, the makers mark OT&BD in a rectangle, for Ollivant & Botsford . These marks are a little rubbed but readable. The lion mark is quite rubbed. The hallmarks are for Ollivant & Botsford, 1908. The company was registered between 1896 and 1936 from St Annes Street in Manchester. The name is also stamped in full above Manchester, to the side, these marks are rather rubbed. It is 4 ¼ inches (10.5cm) tall. 6 inches (15cm) wide. It would make a great present and wonderful addition to any silver collection! I have had it for half a dozen years. It came from a provincial auction in North Derbyshire. It is in very good condition , no repairs splits etc, I would describe it as mint but the marks are a little rubbed. the base is typically filled.
