MOTHER LODE PICTURE ROCK QUARTZ & GOLD from TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA NATURAL GOLD & QUARTZ - 6.2 CARATS T he photo is an enlarged representation of the gold. Actual size of the ruler: 1/4" wide. S caled-down yardstick should give you a better gauge of how big this piece really is. I f you have any questions, please ask them prior to bidding. R ock is quite thick - 5 mm. Both faces of this unusually transparent piece of Tuolumne County quartz reveals abundant gold. I sold some specimen from this location a couple of months ago, but this rock has some added features. The green inclusions don't seem to be in evidence , but t are small tufts of white drifting around like little cotten balls inside the see-through, greyish quartz. A vivid orangish mineral, perhaps iron residue, also shows inside the rock. No Opticon (stabilizer) has been applied. T's Considerable gold in this rock much of which can be seen on the sides as well as on the back face. Real solid piece of gold quartz picture rock and very rare.
