Historic, beautiful Sony TR-63 transistor radio, JapanSony’s FIRST pocket transistor radio with built-in speaker. The TR-63 also has the distinction of being the very first Sony radio ever imported into the United States. Watch video below for all the details:This rare Sony is collected for its historic value as well as its trendsetting good looks. And the green color is a two-tone (note the contrasting darker green knobs), making it the most desirable color scheme for the TR-63. Sony favored this green color and used this same green on their very first transistor radio, the TR-55. Of special interest here also is the early “Sony” logo on the front which has not been used since 1958.Transistors are early Sony oval-style, and so is the diode! Three are stamped “Sony” on top.
