This 1960's Sony Transistor Radio Model 1r-81 Serial No. 39685 in excellent condition. Includes original packaging and case, earphone, product/warranty information, brass plate (not engraved) and leather tag. Was not stored with batteries and as such, has no internal damage. I am liquidating my estate. Make an offer.I've scanned and added the insert/manual which has some statistical data about the unit and have included an image of the earphone, which was never taken out of the plastic. The Serial No. is located on the outside of the box as well as on the inside of the unit underneath the fabric battery pull, as shown. I must also note, and this I believe is very important. The adhesive used to hold the Sony label on the front has deteriorated with time and I have NOT attempted to reapply it with a modern adhesive. I believe it is important NOT to do this and I will NOT reapply the Sony label and compromise the authenticity/antiquity of this unit. As I've been going through the items in this box and gathering more information for bidders and interested parties, I am reminded how nice this item is. Whoever wins this will auction not be disappointed.Additionally, I am not sure of the battery type but the power requirement is 2.6 V, satisfied by 2 1.3 V Mercury batteries (Eveready E-640, Mallory RM-640 or equivalent.
