Padding the envelope is impossible with normal sized catalogues, and postal regulations forbid the use of tape to close an overfilled envelope. Envelopes that are taped closed are returned to the sender. Any existing imperfections are duly noted in the descriptions, but the post office has been known to bump a corner or spine before it’s leaves their hands. If you would like to ‘upgrade’ to a Flat Rate Box, please add $5. to US shipping. For overseas clients, the larger Flat Rate Boxes can hold several more catalogues, the charge is $35. (Discounted). A NOTE ON AUCTION CATALOGUES FOR THE COLLECTOR OR DEALER: T is probably no better reference or guide for valuing works of art than the sale catalogue of a major auction house. you find professional descriptions, accurate evaluations in the form of pre-sale estimates, and excellent illustrations. The price an object brought, at a public sale conducted by a major auction house, is pertinent for several reasons: the object was listed/illustrated and described in a specialist publication made available to dealers/collectors all over the world, and, ostensibly, the hammer price had an under bidder tby establishing a realistic market value at the time of sale. Auction catalogues offer a timeless reference guide for identifying artists/craftsmen, schools, and styles, often of objects not illustrated elsew Describing and illustrating examples from the finest and rarest of museum pieces to the more common and everyday: sale catalogues make up an indispensable part of any serious dealer or enthusiasts reference library.
