This auction is for 4 Soup Bowls. This auction features a vintage a set of (4) soup bowls by Spode Copeland, England Earthenware. A Black & White Farm Scene Transferware, old back stamp mark with one bowl having an A over the number 37, the second bowl O over 37 and a the third bowl 38, can't make out letter and the forth bowl looks like an M, can't make out the year. From what my research has found that means made in August & October of 1937 and 1938. On one of the bowls it is clearly impressed into the clay is "Copeland Spode Imperial". Not sure on the other 3. If a fellow Ebayer has more information on this pattern or what the line was called I would appreciate hearing from you. I will be listing several serving pieces including a covered vegetable bowl, a serving platter, a lid to a soup tureen (have the tureen, but has been damaged and re-glued. Not sure if it can be professional restored) , 3 coffee cups, 2 pickle dishes, 4 platters & other items in the near future. ~~I have added the photos to this auction so you can see what I will be listing~~~.All are dated in the late 1930's. All pieces have a different countryside/Farm pattern and all in Black & White. Bowls measure approx. 11 3/4" across There is crazing in the glaze from age. 2 of the bowls have just a slight amount of crazing. When wrapped and boxed for mailing item read more
