ATHEARN GENESIS SP COACH W FIGURES This is Genesis beautiful coach with 12 seated Preiser figures added, (13 if you figure the tiny baby in the arms of the mother figure in one of the seats.) More- I have reversed a few seats so the car looks good operating in either direction. This was done on long distance trains so groups of four could face each other. The model is lighted and I have added pale green shades as you can see in the photo. The car has operating diaphrams and wide-swing draft gear holding standard magnetic couplers. The model has metal wheels and accurate metal triple bolster trucks used on the prototoype of these cars. For anyone modeling the Southern Pacific, Union Pacific, Texas and New Orleans, Chicago and Northwestern (till 1955) or Milwaukee Road (after 1955) this car should be of interest. (The City trains on the Overland route all rode on UP rails Ogden to Omaha, then CNW before 55, Milwaukee Road after 1955. While it probably wasn't used on the Sunset, into El Paso on the T&NO rails there was the Golden State, Imperial and the Argonaut which got any kind of coaches available. ) When I first saw It I almost passed it by because it is has the Cascade emblem, and I model the Coast Line.
