After the end of WWII Southern Pacific drastically revamped their passenger schedules. War time restrictions were lifted and SP as well as all of the nations railroads ordered new equipment and returned to the pre-war faster schedules. This timetable reflects a few of those changes on the Western Division. The San Francisco Overland Limited, The City of San Francisco, the Cascade and the San Joaquin Daylight, to name a few, were placed on faster schedules. Also, this date marked the end of SP's large "saddle blanket" size employee timetables. This timetable replaced #240 of September 1945. On June 2, 1946 these new format timetables were issued systemwide. This timetable consists of 48 pages including special instructions with speed restrictions and tonnage ratings. T are 20 pages of schedules. This document was once folded but has been stored flat for many years and any fold lines are hard to find. Other than that it is in excellent condition. Thanks for looking.
