Soviet Badge for Excellent Service in MVD, 1985-1991. Gilded brass, German silver, enamel; 44 x 30 mm. Solid quality screw back, riveted 3-piece construction, 44mm tall. Excellent condition. Comes with original mint marked screw plate. Established in 1985 and issued until the collapse of the USSR in 1991. The badge was awarded for excellent service to correctional officers and other MVD personnel of jails and forced labor camps. It was also issued to faculty and staff of the MVD schools that trained personnel for Soviet penitentiary system. For final description please look at the photographs.
