Soviet Russian Order of the Patriotic War Medal 1 st Class + Book "Banners of Victory" + Document This auction is for the Soviet Russian Order of the Patriotic War Medal 1 st Class + Book "Banners of Victory" + Document . The Order of the Patriotic War was established 20 May 1942. Awarded to officers and enlisted men of the armed forces and security troops and to partisans, irrespective of rank, for skillful command of their units in action. The order is made of silver and has gold plate. The order has the serial number #1291195 and goes with the book and document. The Order of the Patriotic War was an Order (decoration) of the Soviet Union , and was awarded to all soldiers in the Soviet armed forces, security troops, and to partisans for heroic deeds during the Great Patriotic War . The Order came in first class and second class depending upon the merit of the deed. It was the first Soviet medal established during the war, and the first Soviet order divided by classes. Its statute precisely defined, which deeds are awarded with the order, eg. shooting down three aircraft as a fighter pilot, or destroying two heavy or three medium or four light tanks, or capturing a warship, or repairing an aircraft under fire after landing on a hostile territory, and so on, were awarded with the first class. It features a red enamel five-pointed star, made of silver, with straight rays in the background, and crosses sabre and rifle. The rays in the background are golden plate for 1st Class. The red star is surrounded by a white enamel ring with the words ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННАЯ ВОЙНА ("Patriotic War"). In 1985 during the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War, it was decided that all surviving veterans of the war would be awarded either 2nd or 1st class of the Order. The book "Banners of Victory" was also given to a person with order and document at the same day. This is jubilee book which devoted to 30 years of victory in WWII. This book has a lot of stories written by soldiers and mere people who survived WWII. T are unique photos which were made during the war. A young boy goes to the war. He leaves his family, his mother cries and this photo called "A sad farewell with mother". Partisans attack the enemies and this photo called "Partisans attack". T is the book "Banners of Victory". T are two volumes. We sell two volumes of this book. You can buy them both.
