ORIGINAL OLD RUSSIAN POLICE MVD (МООП) BADGE OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE USSR
This badge made 2 piece constraction and good enamels. Very low serial number # 919. Very Attractive. Size of the badge is 4 x 2.7 cm. Awarded in 1966. Excellent condition. On August 30 1962 g. the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR converted the Ministry of Internal Affairs into the Ministry for Maintenance of Public Order ([MOOP]) of the RSFSR. Analogous edicts are accepted in all union and Autonomous Republics the USSR. On July 26 1966 g. by the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR “about the creation of the Union-Republic Ministry for Maintenance of Public Order of the USSR” there was restored centralized management of the organs of the police on a scale of the country ([MOOP] of the USSR). On September 17 1966 g. the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR abolished the Ministry for Maintenance of Public Order of the RSFSR in connection with the placing of its functions on [MOOP] of the USSR. (Ministries for Maintenance of Public Order of other union republics and of Autonomous Republics they continued its existence.) On November 25 1968 g. the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR accepted edict “about renaming of the Ministry for Maintenance of Public Order of the USSR into the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR”. Analogous edicts are accepted in the union and Autonomous Republics the USSR. In October 1989 g. is newly formed the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the RSFSR. On December 25 1991 g. by the special law of the RSFSR it was renamed into the Russian Federation. Thus, MVD of the RSFSR becomes the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs. On December 26 1991 g. of the USSR officially ended its existence. All organs, establishments and organizations MVD of the USSR in the territory of Russia were transferred under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation with their start in the system MVD of Russi
