Posy Trough

C1880
No Reserve

A rare Sowerby pressed glass posy trough decorated with a Walter Crane illustration from his "Baby's Opera" nursery rhyme book, published in 1877.

The rhyme is entitled "Elizabeth, Elspeth, Betty & Bess" and I believe this opaque milk coloured glass is known as "Queen's Ivory"

The piece is moulded with the raised Sowerby trademark to the base.
