Up for auction is one rare official Spalding NBA Game Ball complete with an enscribed signature of NBA commissioner David Stern. This ball was introduced for use during the 2006-07 NBA season. It is made from a microfiber composite with moisture management that was supposed to provide "better grip and feel" for players. However, the ball was discontinued about two months into the regular season due to complaints from NBA players who stated that it was slippery and hard to hold. After a grievance was filed by players to the National Labor Relations Board, the Commissioner announced that the league would switch back to the old leather model ball beginning in January 2007. The ball up for auction is the 2006 model and is dated as such. It is extremely rare and is meant to be a collector's item. It is in perfect, brand new condition and is fully inflated. It has never been used in game action and was only removed from its packaging for the photographs posted above. The photos are of the actual ball you will receive. Original USA purchase with official NBA logos and hologram. I will ship for free USPS Priority to anywhere in the USA. Thank you for looking and feel free to ask any questions.
