SPARTON TUBE RADIO AM/FM BANDS MODEL # 121 From the research I've done I can see this radio was built in Jackson Michigan in 1949. This would be a nice, and less common, radio to add to your vintage radio collection. How many people have even heard of Sparton? The radio measures 16 inches across by 12 inches high and 9 inches deep. This is a heavy radio, weighing almost 19 lbs. The AM band works exceptionally well. I live in Massachusetts and was able to pick up radio stations in New York city with clear reception. This radio puts a enough sound, 65 watts to be exact, to easily fill the house and I didn't turn it up half way. Very nice for a model of this age. I was unable to get anything from the FM band, but I'm sure if you know anything about these repairing or adjusting these old radios then I sure you're to worried about that. I don't know anything about fixing these radios, so I made no attempt to fix the problem. Maybe it's a blown tube or the tuner needs adjusting. The cabinet is solid all the way around and all four rubber feet are still attached. T are some scratches and t, but nothing that a little woodworking skill couldn't repair easily. T are no deep scratches that would difficult to fix. The face plate is copper and the dial lights up with a nice glow. (as only an old tube radio can.) T is no backing on this
