Up for auction is a small group of 11 United States Special Delivery covers, plus 5 additional US covers/postal mailing cards (that are not Special Delivery). The most notable is the E7 Hamburg Amerika cover shown in the first 4 pictures. I have tried to provide accurate pictures of this cover please email me if you have any additional questions. In addition to centering issues, it appears to me that there is a small tear/perforation disturbance on the top margin of the E7 , as shown in the picture. Also, the top right corner of the envelope is "dented", affecting the 2 cent Washington stamp. The envelope was opened at the top, and the back flap is MISSING. Still a VERY infrequently seen piece of postal history, this stamp was only on sale for a matter of months and a search across the web will net you very few existing copies of this stamp on cover. There is an enclosure, but I do not believe that it belongs with this cover.

Also included (Picture 5) are 10 other Special Delivery covers. Of the ones that have special delivery stamps on them (8), 5 are postmarked either 1911 or 1912. Three are of a later date (1916+) and then there are two special delivery usages from the 1920's that contain large amounts of normal stamps (rather than Special Delivery stamps), including "special delivery" being written across the stamps themselves in pen on both cover. These covers have varying faults; many are missing the back flaps, may be opened roughly, et cetera. Please bid accordingly! Most of the Special Delivery stamps appear sound to me , with minor centering issues on some. I will again be very happy to answer any question to the best of my ability. One of the covers (the 1916) has a infrequently seen notice of delayed delivery attached to the back, reminding the recipient that special delivery is only attempted once.

Also included (Picture 6) are 3 other covers and 2 very early Postal cards Please see the picture for more details. They are essentially just throw-ins, but I will be happy to answer what questions that I can. Please ask if you would like more details!

Please review the pictures and ask questions before bidding. I simply don't have time to appraise and list all of these covers separately. This is a very nice group of postal history covers and should make a collector very happy. However, it is a varied lot of covers (in varied condition), therefore I cannot accept returns unless you find that I have made a significant error in description. So please do not assume, ask! It is my full intention to list as accurately as possible; if you seem something that you are uncertain of, or my description is unclear, please ask for clarification!

PER REQUEST, I AM ADDING INFORMATION ON THE 8 COVERS FROM YEARS 1911 TO 1918:

I underestimated interest in the "extra" covers that had Special Delivery stamps on them, and am therefore providing the following info on them. Please note that I did the best in identification that I could, I did not examine every stamp with a high-power magnifier. I did not discern shades of stamps beyond "light" or "dark" blue. As these are on cover, it is impossible to identify the watermarks. Thus, there is no way that I can give an exact Scott catalog #. I did not evaluate the back of the covers.
