OFFERED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: Please note that these are my personal items. My husband and I are retiring and since the kids seem to have no interest in some of the things that have been hanging around here for years, we have decided to sell some of them. Since I have no idea of the value (other than our own sentimental value) I have put them on as a Buy-It-Now or Best Offer. If you feel that my price is too high, just let me know....the whole idea is to get these items to a good home and someone that can enjoy them as much as we have. This auction is for a pair of vintage bisque statues. This piece is very large and measure 12 1/2" tall and 10" long. Lovely pastel colors and great attention to the details of the face and the garments. The floral pattern is accentuated by drops of gold to highlight the garment. The back is finished also with just as much attention to detail. This piece is marked on the bottom with crossed arrows and the number 7870. I don't know the age or the maker. We just purchased them because we loved their beauty. Actually we have two of them - they are exactly alike - just mirror images. We have always called this statue "The Proposal" because the gentleman is holding the lady's hand and in his other hand is a gold ring. A lovely romantic piece. We always kept them on the fireplace as they were just the perfect size....but the statue would look equally beautiful as a cabinet piece. If you are interested in the other piece, please let me know. I didn't know if anyone would like the pair or just to purchase them separately. There is a condition issue and the remarkable thing is that it is exactly the same issue on both pieces. The strap that is hanging around the girl's arm must have had another piece with it (possibly a bag), but it is gone....and, like I mentioned above, the other piece has the exact same part missing....We thought perhaps it was done in the making - but are not sure...so we will call it a condition issue. Please take a look at the pictures and see what you think. This piece is heavy - it weighs 7# and with packing, could be 8 1/2 to 9#. I pack with extreme care. I want them to go to a good home and be in excellent condition when they arrive. We must have insurance on this shipment. My motto is "Better Safe than Sorry" so I will pack and repack until I feel completely confident that it is safe....but there is always the chance of a freak accident and I want you and I to be protected.
