DESCRIPTION SPECIMEN DAYS IN AMERICABy Walt WhitmanIntroduction by Gavin Ewart Published in London by the Folio Society in 1979. Black/white illustrations. Cloth boards lithographed in a wrap-around design. Whitman's remembrance of the Civil War from his trip to a battlefield in Virginia to look for his brother. He remained there, "mostly in and around Washington visiting and comforting the wounded, until the end of the War." Note: Scan of spines is to show several books currently on auction. This auction is for ONLY THE BOOK DESCRIBED ABOVE . Condition: This book has most likely never been read. Both book and slipcase are in excellent condition from a very well cared for library.
