Spectacular 1873 American Sterling Silver Mustard Pot is One of the Finest Antique American Sterling Silver Footed Mustard Pots we have ever seen! It is in Excellent Condition and is marked on the bottom BIGELOW KENNARD & CO BOSTON 925 STERLING. It is Very Heavy and VERY Well Crafted! It sits upon four Scrolled Bracket Feet and has an Attached Scrolled Strap Handle. The Hinged Lid has a Wonderful Stepped Raised Circular Domed Area used to Open the Lid with a Button Finial. It retains the Original Gold Gilt Interior in Excellent Condition. All Around the Circular Sides is the most Wonderful Chased Aesthetic Motif Decoration of Cranes Amongst Flowering Tress and Reeds with Snails, Snakes and other Wildlife, t is also a Wonderful Grecian Urn with Flowers in it! Simple Stunning in person! On the Front Side is an Attached Shield Shaped Medallion with the initials M.W.D.W. and the date 1873 engraved upon it.It measures 2 3/4" tall and is 3 3/4" across at the handle and weighs 6.2 ounces.This would be a Wonderful Addition to any Fine Antique Silver Collection.
