This spectacular,extremely visual sampler is for collectors on a budget with a RESERVE OF ONLY 495. Large and impressive the dated 1824 sampler features a folky, very memorable scene with a 4 story house flanked by what appears to be a 3-STORY WOMAN in her colorful striped dress. The woman is extremely fanciful and the house so visually impacting that it almosts takes on a 3-dimensional aura.In addition t is a wonderful,giant heart between family initials just above the house that has mauve accents and a smaller heart within it! This large sampler (appx 19x20) is signed ;"MARGARET HENRY AUG 23,1824"and is in very fine condition with only some minor sporadic losses that are superceded by the fantastic visual elements,and it is conserved on acid free board in a dark molded frame. The linen ground is well preserved and the colorful silks are a virtuous accent. With the reserve well below wholesale,this is worthy of a place in any significant sampler collection;as the house and giant woman are a sure conversation piece.
