This is a beautiful old rosary. My aunt received it from a friend in Quebec, Canada long ago. She has had it for decades and prayed on it until she died last year. It is a beautiful dark wood (it looks like mahagony), the Glory to the Father beads are hand carved and the medals are rare and beautiful. The folded rosary is 25 inches long, the crucifix is 3 inches long and quite heavy, thick medal The corpus reminds me of the one they used in Victorian times on crucifixis w Jesus' halo is large and prominent.. T is a blue glass medal that was made in the early 1900's that depicts the picture of the Canadian martyrs (very, very rare), the large round gold medal has the images of the Holy Family with the Holy Spirit hovering above, the back in French says the Archconferternity of the Holy Family and in the center is the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sorrowful Heart (pierced by a sword) of Mary, The next medal is of St. Joseph carrying the baby Jesus with the Sacred Heart of Jesus above it, the smaller silver medal is Our Lady of Perpetual Help in french and on the reverse side Pope Pius X while he was Pope, before he became a saint. Finally t is a gold medal with Mary and the child Jesus and on the back is the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart.
