We are very pleased to present, for your consideration, this very fine quality, absolutely gorgeous, heavily carved Spectacular Walnut Victorian Rococo Hall Tree (Circa: 1850). This powerful and very impressive Hall Tree measures 99 ½âe in total height (from the floor to the top of the crown), 56 ½âe in width, and 16 ½âe in depth and will break down into two pieces if needed. The finish on this hall tree is original and the patina of the rich walnut wood is fabulous! This gorgeous Walnut Victorian Rococo Hall Tree is adorned with copious quantities of magnificently pierced and carved floral and foliate designs that one would expect on a very fine quality Victorian Rococo Period Piece. The mirrored top is graced with a beautiful pierced, carved, dimensional scrolled and draped crown with roses, foliage, and bell flowers. The area beneath the crown and right above the mirror glass is adorned with a pierced floral gallery abundant with vines, bell flowers and dogwood blooms. Massive scrolled acanthus and dogwood bloom adornments are found on each side of the mirror glass and pierced side sconces designed with regal lion heads holding a garland of carved bell flowers , dogwood blooms, and rose buds. Two additional carved adornments rest on the top surface of the table base and a total of ten turned coat and hat posts complete the mirrored top. The elegant table base has a center dovetailed drawer and is graced with applied mouldings and wooden medallion pulls. Additional applied mouldings are found on the sides of the drawer and on the sides of the dimensional table top. The front legs of the table base are most impressive with the intricately carved scrolls, fluting , bell flowers and egg designs. These same leg design details are repeated in the half-format on the panel that sits behind the front legs. Strong block feet on the front and back complete the table base portion of this magnificent piece. While we could not find the makerâe(tm)s mark, we are confident that this piece was constructed by one of the finest makers of the period.
