I have for your consideration a rare find. This is a Four Column, or Column and Cornice as some call this type, Made by Sperry and Shaw. This is a clock that you only see pictures or get to see at a major museum. Best of all this is complete and original as best I can determine. I am sure that the finish has been redone but this was done well. I hope that the pictures I have taken speak to the desirability of this clock. I cannot say enough and I have elected to have the pictures do the talking. Special Note: The weights used in this clock are unique as is this clock. I would believe that they are the only type that will fit into this housing. I know that I have seen no other weights that are even near these in size. A little history. This is a transition clock in that it is between different types of major clock categories. Usually you find the Column & Splat which is the 1840 and 1850 and on the other side you find the Pillar & Scroll from 1825 to 1845. Mixed in to this are the double and triple deckers. In between all of this, a few of this style were made. You may not be familiar with the makes names but they are the forerunners of the Seth Thomas's and Ansonia Companies that are common name in horological circles. Please consideration this as a one-time chance to have a part of the American Horological History in your collection. read more
