B-1 Description You are viewing a most attractive example of English Porcelain Teaware from bygone days We are offering a very pretty Tea Trio with matching Bread Plate A four piece set - seldomly available Crafted By: Spode Origin: England Date: circa 1870 Rare Example from the Victorian era Colourway: Pink, cream and white Pattern: Lavish gilded pattern Rim: Gilded Beautiful round handle Handpainted A most eye catching example that displays wonderfully An example that would have been affordable to only the more affluent of the period. Measurements Teacup: 2+1/2 inches in height. Saucer: 5+1/2 inches in diameter. Plate: 7+1/4 inches in diameter. Bread Plate: 10 inches across. Condition Report There are no chips. No cracks. Detail intact. Very very slight rubbing to the gilding. No crazing. Background Information: The custom of drinking tea became a British institution when the Victorians took to serving it every afternoon in the parlour - until 1800 it had been customary to drink tea after dinner.
