The paper measures 16"x20"About Me: Find me and Friend me on facebook at SprayPaintArtByManuel I began my art career at the age of 18 in my hometown of Mexico City, Mexico. I learned through the age-old tradition of apprenticeship, working as an assistant to an established artist in Mexico City. After a year of training, I set off in the world to pursue my art, working in Mexico City and then Acapulco, before settling down in the Pacific resort town of Mazatlan, Mexico. Over the 15+ years working as an artist in Mazatlan, I was featured in multiple publications and was several times honored as a cultural attraction for the city of Mazatlan. As I developed as an artist, I decided to expand my horizons by traveling to Canada to spend the summers attending the many cultural festivals throughout the country. It was during my first trip to Canada that I was selected to represent Mexico at the 13th Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I continued to travel to Canada each summer to find inspiration and new audiences for my work, finally settling in Vancouver, British Columbia for several summers. It was at the end of one of these trips that I took one step further in the world, traveling to Madrid and the Costa del Sol in Spain, and then on to Morocco, where I found an audience for my art a whole world away from life in Mexico. I eventually returned to Canada, then Mexico, and finally, in the winter of 2008, I moved to my current location of Tampa, Florida. As Tampa hosted Superbowl XLIII, I found a new audience for my art in the Channelside area of Tampa, setting up shop in what is my current location. For three years, I have created art every weekend for locals and tourists alike, and I am proud to call Channelside THE meeting spot for art and music lovers in Tampa. My live shows incorporate the art and music that is my passion in life. I also have a studio in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Tampa, where I work on large-scale custom pieces during the week. These pieces require a special kind of concentration and energy, allowing me to stretch the limits of my expertise. Many of the paintings on this site are examples of these custom works. These past 20 years, my art has taken me around the world and back, and I have met many of the most important and significant people in my life through my work. My art has brought me love, adventure, family—and, in the summer of 2012, I received the greatest honor of all when I became a citizen of the United States.
