FLOWERSHi Everyone! Although I have made this for the Spring/Easter season, this is one of those pieces that could be put out all year long. We love that here and hope you do also!This piece is going to look great for the center of your table. The colors are just great! This table runner or candle mat has been HANDMADE by the seller! It measures approximately 44" x 12 1/2". The front has been made from a tone on tone crackle 100% quilt shop cotton. Each piece was then individually cut by HAND from wool, wool felt, hand dyed wool, and the grass has been done in quilt shop cottons. Each piece was then meticulously HAND appliqued with a blanket stitch. The vines, berries, the word FLOWERS, flower stem, and all of the detail has been HAND embroidered. I have chosen warm and natural batting which will give your table runner a soft, antique look, feel, and a nice drape. All of my stitching is done on top of the warm and natural so that your stitching will stand out! I then heavily HAND quilted your piece using a primitive running stitch. I have chosen a red and cream ticking for the backing, while a tone on tone deep burgundy 100% quilt shop cotton was chosen for the edging. My edging is double thickness (french seam) and applied by HAND also. I know it is difficult in these times to find high quality, handmade items. My items are all HANDMADE by me, one at a time. I take great pride in the quality of my work. I pay attention to detail, and I do not take shortcuts! My pieces are entirely HAND quilted and HAND appliqued. I do not use a machine for either. Each one of my quality pieces is designed to be a family heirloom, to be passed with pride from generation to generation. I know it takes more time to HAND quilt, but this is what TRULY makes an heirloom piece. If you are looking for HANDMADE items, PLEASE read your auctions carefully. A number of sellers will use the terms stitched in place with a blanket stitch, individually stitched on, quilt applique, etc. Unless the seller says it was HAND stitched.....More than likely it was done with a machine. Also pay attention to the quilting process. If your seller is omitting to tell you how the piece was quilted, it also is likely that it was done by a machine. The time involved in HAND work is immense. And sellers such as myself are proud to let you know this. My best suggestion to you is to email any seller and ask if you are in doubt. I recommend that you never wash your beloved quilts, etc. in a machine or dry in a dryer. Even though I use quilt shop quality cottons, threads, batting, etc. it is best not to do this. There are many sites on the internet to confirm this, and explain in more detail how to take care of your quilts. You should hand wash, line dry, or lay flat to dry. You may always press with an iron. I know it is tempting to throw items in the washer when we are sooooo busy, but this is not a good idea.
