Springfield Trap Door 45/70 Conversion Barrel Springfield Trap Door 45/70 Conversion Barrel. Barrel and Hammer used to convert a standard Springfield 45/70 Trap Door to a .45 Cal. Muzzle Loader. Both Hammer and Barrel are in excellent condition. I had a Black Powder Buff check the condition of the Bore, and His response was," Sweet" The Barrel obviously had a different rear sight at one point. I'm assumeing this, as t are two set screws in the rear sight area.( See the photo) Print on the Barrel reads-- Numrich Arms Hopkins&Allen W.
