Compare quality of workmanship with any other maker or manufacturer. Note the intricate free flowing scroll design. The number & depth of cuts at various angles, adding to the reflective quality. Applied figures are enhanced with a variably matted background. This is contemporary "American Scroll" engraving first popularized in the late 1950's & early 60's.This is apart from the wonderful "Retro" style of the 1920's, 30's, & 40's performed by Edwin Bohlin among others. Materials used: I use, at the very least, solid sterling silver as the foundation for all my custom fitted Spyderco knives. Karat gold & base metals are used to contrast in the scheme of design. I do not use caustic chemicals for antiquing background, but rather flat black enamel. And finally price - I doubt you will find a knife of this quality at retailers for less than three times the price of my opening bids. These are not just heirloom collector pieces, but 100% utilitarian. Not just made for the generations, but also everyday use backed by a lifetime warranty on my custom workmanship & materials used.
