This is a superb and extremely huge Staffordshire blue and white soup tureen and matching soup ladle. This superb Staffordshire tureen comes from a Palm Beach estate. The piece is marked Semi Nankeen China with a ships mark on bottom and also under the cover. Dates circa 1840-1860. Decorated with a floral basket in center and large flowers all around. Has huge cobalt finial ontop. Thick double handles. Measures 14 x 10 x 10". Also decorated with huge design in bottom middle of tureen. I also have listed separately the matching 21" long turkey platter. This soup tureen comes with orginal matching large soup ladle. The ladle measures 11.5". The stem holding the bowl of the ladle has been restored from maybe a crack. You can see the paint chip off the bowl. Regarding the soup tureen, t are no chips or cracks. T is evidence from feel and some discoloration that a restoration has been done. I have no idea what it was, b/c the restoration was professional. It's an amazing tureen and ladle and perfect for collector.
