Staffordshire brown transferware covered tureen in "Corinth" pattern by James Edwards C.1842-51. This tureen measures 10 1/4" by 10 1/4" by 9" high. In the central scene the ruins of a columned building are at left center and on the right two goats are grazing on a grassy bank. In the foreground, a stone paved terrace leads to an angled platform. A man and woman in court costume converse with a man seated on a fallen column. This tureen is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or crazing. There is some slight discoloration on the edges.
