Offered is a wonderful Blue Transferware, octagon shape, Cream Pitcher in the Florentine pattern. This piece features a romantic scene of an arched bridge crossing a river, a castle on a hilltop and tall trees on the right. In the foreground a man, woman and child stand on a flower strewn bank. Another person is seated on the bank, a boat is passing on the river and t are mountains and clouds in the background. This piece was produced by TJ&J Mayer in Burslem, England circa 1843 - 1855 and retains their mark. This creamer is in very nice overall condition. T is some shallow flaking along the inner top rim (see photos), but no other chips or cracks and only very minimal age coloring. It measures 6 inches in height and 3 1/4 inches from spout to handle. ~ A beautiful piece of early Blue Transferware - offered without reserve ~ Please email any questions before bidding.
