Up for auction is this fine old Staffordshire sugar bowl. It is 8" high and 6" wide. The only reference material I could find was in a flow mulberry book. T it was called Grandmother's Flower & Sponge, although the border in the book was not the same one on the sugar bowl. The maker was unknown, but it was estimated to have been made about 1840. The flowers look like Elsmore & Fosters Grandmothers flowers. The bowl has fine over all clean crazing. The body has two small chips around the opening and the base has a yellowish stain. The standing rim shows normal wear. The lid also has two small chips, a very fine tight hairline and some staining underneath. Happy bidding! This auction will end on Wednesday December 27th. I will be out of town from the 29th until the 4th, so if you want it shipped on Thursday the 28th, you should pay promptly after the auction or else you will have to wait until the 5th to have it shipped.
